This Privacy Policy explains how NGUYEN HAI QUANG MINH ("I", "me", "my", or "msoBACKUP") collects, uses, stores, and protects information in connection with the msoBACKUP software and the msoBACKUP website.

Important Privacy Statement

msoBACKUP is designed as a local-first backup application. Your backup files remain under your control at the storage locations that you select.

The contents of your backup files are not uploaded to, stored on, or processed by msoBACKUP's servers or cloud storage services as part of the normal backup operation.

msoBACKUP does not provide cloud storage for your backup files and does not require you to upload your personal files to msoBACKUP in order to use its core backup functionality.

Information required for licensing, activation, website operation, payment processing, security, and technical support is handled separately as described in this Privacy Policy.

Depending on how you use msoBACKUP and its website, I may collect or process the following information.

When you visit the msoBACKUP website, your IP address may be processed to determine your approximate country or region for purposes such as checkout, currency or tax handling, and suggesting a website language. This lookup is performed through a third-party IP geolocation service as described in Section 7.

Device and Application Information

For license activation, verification, security, and fraud prevention, msoBACKUP may process limited technical information such as:

2. Backup Files and Backup Data

msoBACKUP is a local-first backup application. The application performs backup operations between the source and destination storage locations selected and configured by you.

The contents of your personal backup files are not uploaded to or stored on msoBACKUP servers or cloud storage as part of the normal backup operation.

msoBACKUP does not require access to the contents of your personal files in order to provide its core backup functionality.

Your backup files remain on the source and destination locations that you configure. You decide where your original files and backup copies are stored.

msoBACKUP does not provide cloud backup or cloud storage for your backup files.

If you use a network, NAS, external drive, or other remote storage location as a backup destination, that storage location is selected and configured by you. The security, availability, and privacy of such third-party storage environments are your responsibility.

If you voluntarily send files, screenshots, logs, diagnostic information, or other materials to technical support, those materials may be received and processed for troubleshooting and support purposes.

3. Payment Information

Payments for msoBACKUP are processed through Lemon Squeezy, our designated payment provider and Merchant of Record.

I do not store your complete credit-card number or payment authentication credentials.

Lemon Squeezy may process information required for payment processing, transaction management, tax handling, fraud prevention, and order fulfillment according to its own privacy policy and terms.

4. How Information Is Used

Information collected or processed may be used to:

• Activate licenses
• Verify license status
• Associate licenses with authorized devices
• Prevent fraud and license abuse

For IP-based country/region lookup, your IP address may be sent to ip-api.com, or a fallback provider if the primary service is unavailable, solely to determine a country or region code. This lookup information is not otherwise stored by msoBACKUP.

Information shared with third-party providers is limited to information reasonably necessary for the applicable service.

Third-party providers operate under their own privacy policies and terms. msoBACKUP does not control how those providers process information outside the services they provide to msoBACKUP.

8. Data Retention

I retain personal, license, and transaction information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide the software and related services
• Maintain license records
• Provide technical support
• Prevent fraud and unauthorized use
• Maintain accounting and transaction records
• Comply with legal obligations

Certain transaction, accounting, licensing, or legal records may need to be retained for longer periods where required or permitted by law.

Because msoBACKUP does not normally store users' backup files on msoBACKUP servers, backup files are not retained by msoBACKUP as part of its normal backup service.

I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by msoBACKUP and its services against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

msoBACKUP is designed so that users' backup data remains at the storage locations they configure rather than being stored in a centralized msoBACKUP cloud service.

However, no Internet-connected system, computer, storage device, network, or software application can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for the devices, accounts, networks, and storage locations that you choose to use with msoBACKUP, including appropriate access controls and protection against unauthorized physical or network access.

Because msoBACKUP may use international service providers, certain personal, licensing, payment, support, or website-related information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence.

Such processing is performed by the relevant service providers in connection with the services they provide.
